Biscuit Delivery to Monika's Doggie Rescue

I can't tell you how happy it makes us to deliver biscuits to this wonderful Doggie Rescue.

Located in Ingleside, Sydney, Doggie Rescue is a private, registered charity that as a no-kill policy and believes in saving and re-homing as many dogs as they can from council pounds.

We have previously adopted a rescue dog from this place on behalf of a friend and we have seen first hand how hard the volunteers work and how much they care about rehoming their rescue dogs.

Doggy Recipe: Vegetarian Peanut Butter Crunch

Billy's Review:   Crunchy yum  can smell the peanut butter in these from the other side of the room and come running when mum takes the biscuit jar lid off.  We jump very high for these biscuits.  Mum tried them, wasn't impressed, but we love them !

All Biscuit Billy biscuits are made from the finest human-grade, dog-friendly ingredients.

Adapted from BEST OF BREED DOG BISCUITS
This recipe was adapted from one commonly found across several sites on the web called BEST OF BREED BISCUITS.  We are not sure where it originated from, so if it's yours, please let us know so that we can credit you here. I’ve changed the name tof the biscuit to be a little more descriptive of the ingredients.  I’ve added the word crunch simply because they are very crunchy biscuits!

INGREDIENTS
2 cups wholemeal flour (I use organic)
1 cup rolled oats or oatmeal
2 tablespoons of fresh parsley (for fresh breath)
1/2 cup dry nonfat milk powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup peanut butter (crunchy or plain)
Cold water

METHOD

Preheat oven to 150/300 degrees.
Mix dry ingredients then add the eggs and peanut butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Add enough water to bring to a dough.  Roll out and cut into required shapes.
Bake 40-60 minutes. When cooked, the biscuits should be golden brown, dry and crisp all the way through.

Makes 42-60 biscuits depending on cutter size.
Let us know what your dog thinks!

Welcome : About Biscuit Billy

About Biscuit Billy

Welcome to Biscuit Billy.

Biscuit Billy is NOT a commercial business.  It is NOT a big concern.  It does NOT have staff, donated ingredients, it is NOT sponsored or funded.  We don’t even sell anything here!  It’s simply a home-grown initiative to encourage people to bake healthy dog treats and provide them to dogs on the street, shelters, rescue sites or any other places that take care of these beautiful animals.

We do know that there are more important things needed by dogs in need than a biscuit and we will donate to some great people who provide those essential services .... but we also know that every little bit counts and doing something is better than doing nothing at all.  This is our way to give.  We hope that it will inspire others to find theirs.

The Billy behind Biscuit Billy and the role he plays

Biscuit Billy is named after Billy the Border Collie.  Billy was born on 13 June 2013 and lives with his family in Sydney’s Inner West.  Billy has a 13 year old Border Collie sister, Suki.

Billy lives a very active lifestyle, so much so that he is wearing his mum out, insistent on learning several dogs sports at a time.   Billy is a novice at Dock Dogs, Rally-O, Agility and hopes soon to become a novice at Flyball.  Billy has his own Facebook page.  If you would like to follow Billy, please click here, he loves making new Facebook friends.

Billy’s mum studies Canine Behaviour (dog training) with the Delta Society and with so much dog love in her heart it makes sense that she is a keen advocate for doing whatever we can, no matter how small to spread the doggy love to as many dogs in need that we can.  That’s where Biscuit Billy comes into it.

Mum LOVES to bake!  So bake she does, using only the finest human quality, dog friendly ingredients - which means humans can eat her dog biscuits as well, although humans would not find these treats nearly as appetising!

Biscuit Billy biscuits go first to Billy, the head taste tester and final approver.  They are then given to family, friends and as often as we can afford and are able, sent out to shelters, rescue sites and any other dogs in need that we know of and are able to support.  There are so many dogs in need.  From the poor pup down the road, to the dogs of the elderly who don't have the means or resources, to those sitting next to the homeless on the city streets.

The purpose of this site and of Biscuit Billy is to encourage people all over the world to bake for dogs, whether its for their dogs, friends of dogs or dogs in need.  We hope to create a community of people who see this as their small way of giving to these wonderful wonderful animals in their local area.

If you have a dog shelter, rescue site or similar ...

Then you can register to receive a donation of Biscuit Billy Biscuits. Click here to register. Biscuit Billy Biscuits are sent to Australian shelters, rescue sites only. Which is exactly why we want to inspire a community of dog-loving bakers to do the same in their area.
